The TASCAM DR-70D is a multi-track field recorder for DSLR filmmaking, television and web broadcast. It records up to four tracks of WAV audio at up to 96 kHz / 24-bit and includes two onboard omnidirectional condenser microphones in an A/B stereo configuration.
Four balanced XLR-1/4″ TRS combo inputs support mic- and line-level signals, with individually selectable 24 or 48 V phantom power. A 3.5 mm mic/line input offers selectable plug-in power. The recorder also has 3.5 mm camera/line and headphone outputs, plus a 3.5 mm camera input for playback monitoring.
Recording features include a stereo safety track recorded up to 12 dB lower, a built-in mixer with panning, level, limiting, polarity and up to 150 ms of delay, and low-cut settings at 40, 80, 120, 180 or 220 Hz. It records BWF and WAV files to SD, SDHC or SDXC cards up to 128GB. Power options include four AA batteries, USB or an AC adapter; the batteries and adapter are not included.
The DR-70D has a backlit 128 x 64 pixel LCD, a 1/4″-20 female tripod socket and a shoe mount. Included accessories are a cover and USB cable. Dimensions are 6.7 x 2.2 x 4.2″ / 169 x 55.2 x 106.5 mm; weight is 1.2 lb / 530 g without batteries.
