A Ceremonial Occasion is a short, original band composition presented as a conductor score and parts. Its terrific fanfare opening sets a ceremonial tone, while rhythmic interest gives the piece character.
Colourful percussion adds to the majesty of the wind parts. Brass carries most of the melodic material, with flourishes from the upper woodwinds. This creative Canadian work offers a distinctive addition to band repertoire.
