The Appalachian Dreams Conductor Score is an epic addition to symphonic band literature, built from material borrowed from two English folk songs popular in the Southern Appalachians during the early years of American history: “Going to Boston” and “Soldier, Won't You Marry Me?”.
The work opens in a peaceful, tranquil mood before a bold, powerful statement leads into a dreamlike, mesmerizing section. A powerful percussion contribution supports its driving conclusion.
