The Audtek Premium Dual 6 Ft. RCA Turntable Cable connects a magnetic-cartridge turntable to an amplifier/receiver phono jack. Its attached external ground wire is provided to help prevent noise, and the 6 ft. length reaches beyond the short 3 ft. cables commonly included with turntables for many installations.
The dual-shielded cable has professional-looking metal shells and a 24 AWG oxygen-free copper (OFC) stranded center conductor. Gold-plated connectors help resist the corrosion that can affect tin-plated connectors over time.
Compared with typical included cables using 30 to 32 AWG center conductors, Audtek’s 24 AWG conductor is designed to improve signal strength. The supplier also notes that copper-covered aluminum (CCA) strands can reduce signal strength and contribute to weak solder joints and connector disconnects.
