This is a flat, round piece of natural calfskin measuring 14 inches, in the thick option. Thick is approximately 0.02 of an inch, or 5-6 sheets of printer paper.
For comparison, thin is approximately 0.01 of an inch or 3-4 sheets of printer paper; medium is approximately 0.015 of an inch or 4-5 sheets of printer paper.
All skins are sold “AS IS.” The supplier does its best to eliminate skins with possible defects, but on average you can expect to lose one out of ten skins. Tightness during installation will alter this ratio, so account for this loss in your cost.
