This score and parts edition features the Flower Song from Georges Bizet’s Carmen, also known as "La fleur que tu m'avais jetée." Sung by José in Act II, it is the love aria he performs for Carmen after showing her the flower he kept from two months earlier.
Originally premiered at the Opéra-Comique in Paris on March 3rd, 1875, Carmen became one of the most popular operas in the repertoire within a decade and remains a favorite today. The opera is widely known for arias such as the "Habanera" and "Toreador Song."
