Celestion CF1230BMB 12" Extended Excursion Midbass Driver 8 OhmCelestion, one of the world’s leading suppliers of professional loudspeakers and compression drivers for sound reinforcement, announces the CF1230BMB, a 12" (305 mm) ferrite magnet, cast aluminum chassis professional audio driver designed for both bass and mid-bass duties. The CF1230BMB is built to deliver greater throw than typical mid-bass models, resulting in enhanced low-end performance when used in standard two-way enclosures. It also serves exceptionally well as a bass driver in compact subwoofer designs.
The Celestion CF1230BMB includes a 3” (75 mm) copper-clad aluminum voice coil that delivers a 700W continuous power rating and 96 dB sensitivity, with an operating range from 50Hz to 3,000Hz. Its elastomer surround supports a longer Xmax than a typical 12” mid-bass driver, allowing the CF1230BMB to reproduce lower frequencies more effectively. This makes it a strong choice for discreet, compact subwoofer designs. Because the driver maintains smooth performance up to 3kHz, the CF1230BMB is also an excellent option for 2-way systems with the added benefit of outstanding low frequency capability.
As well as its extended low frequency capability, the CF1230BMB includes Celestion’s smart airflow vented magnet assembly for effective heat management that helps reduce power compression, along with a modified T-pole magnet structure that improves Bl symmetry and lowers distortion.
Developed at Celestion’s Ipswich, England headquarters, this loudspeaker was engineered using in-house FEA (Finite Element Analysis) modelling tools that enabled rapid, meaningful performance gains, resulting in longer product life and exceptionally low distortion.
This new high-performance cast aluminum loudspeaker further reflects Celestion’s ongoing dedication to offering a broad range of high-quality solutions for sound reinforcement and professional audio applications.
