This dedicated subwoofer is an excellent choice for applications requiring maximum amplifier power to deliver uncompromising low-end performance.
The FTR12-4080DL includes a 4" (100 mm) voice coil rated for 1400W of continuous power handling and delivers 88dB sensitivity with an output range of 20–300Hz. Its half-roll elastomer surround improves modal distribution to reduce distortion and provides greater stability at high excursion levels, achieving an Xmax of 13.6mm for powerful, controlled bass.
An Airflow vented magnet assembly provides dynamic heat dispersion that reduces power compression and supports long-term reliability. The driver’s optimized double suspension contributes to enhanced control and linearity, while the glass-loaded paper cone features a weather-resistant impregnation for added durability in demanding environments.
Designed at Celestion’s headquarters in Ipswich, England, this loudspeaker is engineered using advanced FEA (Finite Element Analysis) modelling techniques, enabling rapid development of performance improvements such as increased efficiency and exceptionally low distortion.
