Chandos Anthem No. 1: O Be Joyful in the Lord, HWV 246, also known as Chandos Jubilate, is a score edition of George Frideric Handel’s anthem setting of Psalm 100.
Written between 1717 and 1718 for Cannons, this work reflects Handel’s intimate Chandos anthem style with lighter chamber-music textures and no viola parts. This edition is from the Deutsche Händelgesellschaft and was edited by Friedrich Chrysander.
Instrumentation: 0.2.0.2: 0.0.0.0: Str (2.2.0.1.1 in set): Hpchd or Pno (in score): Soli STB: Mixed STB Chorus. Only one copy of the score is included, so if the harpsichordist/pianist and conductor are separate, an additional copy of the score will be needed. The vocal/choral score is available separately.
