Chanson and Noctourne by Richard Meyer is a charming selection that's perfect for contest or festival. A light hearted and graceful Chanson has been paired with an emotional, slow, brooding Nocturne in minor mode, giving your students a chance to show off two very different playing styles. Throughout the piece, the melody is passed from section to section providing wonderful teaching opportunities in proper ensemble balance.
