With Collapsed Rudiments, Claus Hessler draws on his longtime relationships with Jim Chapin and Dom Famularo to offer a fresh, alternative perspective on a timeless drumming topic: Rudiments and their application on the drum set. This concept bridges the gap between past and present, connecting traditional rudimental techniques with contemporary drum set adaptations. Drawing on concepts from Chapin that have never been published before, Claus presents a methodology that could fundamentally change your understanding of the subject. Based upon the concept of altering the distances between strokes in rudiments, the book will inspire you to reconsider your technique, challenge your rhythmic skills and hearing perception, and reveal unexpected relationships between patterns. The material is presented with Hessler's extensive knowledge and expertise from having traveled and taught around the world, authored many books, and taught hundreds of students.
