Camille Saint-Saëns’ Concerto For Piano No. 5 in F, Op. 103 — known as "The Egyptian" — is offered here as a full score in a reprint edition.
Composed in 1896, this was Saint-Saëns’ final piano concerto and debuted that same year with the composer performing the solo part. Its subtitle comes from a trip to Northern Africa taken during the year of composition.
The score reflects a near-eastern musical character, with glimmering scales, exotic tunes, and a vivid second movement inspired by a Nubian love song and the sights and sounds of floating down the Nile.
Instrumentation: 2+Picc.2.2.2: 4.2.3.0: Timp.Perc(1): Str (9-8-7-6-5 in set): Solo Piano.
