Felix Mendelssohn’s Concerto For Two Pianos and Orchestra in A-flat Major (No. 2), MWV O 6 is presented here as a conductor score & parts set.
Completed on November 12, 1824, when Mendelssohn was fifteen, this work may have been the second orchestral work he composed, following his Concerto For Two Pianos in E Major from the previous year. The first performance took place in Berlin in 1825 with his teacher Ignaz Moscheles.
The score remained obscure for many years until the manuscript was rediscovered in the Berlin State Library archive in 1950. Instrumentation: 2.2.2.2: 2.2.3.3: Timp: Str (9.8.7.6.5 in set): Solo pianos (2 - available separately).
