Mozart’s Concerto For Violin No. 3 In G, K. 216 Solo Part presents the violin solo part for his third violin concerto in G major.
Written in 1775 for Gaetano Brunetti, this concerto was described by Mozart in a letter to his father as the “Straßburg-Concert.” He also noted performing it at the Heiligkreuz Monastery, where it received praise from those in attendance.
The first movement borrows a tune from Mozart’s opera Il Re Pastore. A gentle, poised slow movement follows, and the finale brings the stamina and character of a gypsy peasant dance.
Instrumentation: Solo Vn: 2.2.0.0: 2.0.0.0: Str (4.4.3.3.3.in set).
