The Dayton Audio 25mm coin-type audio exciter uses surface-exciter technology to turn a suitable surface into a speaker. Its compact size suits projects such as toys, monitors, cabinet doors and windows, and its 4-ohm impedance supports use with a range of audio amplifier setups.
It handles 10 watts RMS and 20 watts maximum. A neodymium motor and proprietary voice coil provide increased sensitivity compared with similar-sized exciters, helping reduce power requirements. The 1-inch voice coil and cooling vents support higher-input-power applications while maintaining a slim-line form.
The IMS interchangeable mounting system includes a threaded mounting pad. Install the pad on your project using 2 screws or 3M Adhesive, then screw the exciter assembly onto it. The interchangeable mount lets you try different placements or exciters and replace an exciter without risking damage to the project.
The published frequency-response measurement uses 1/3rd-octave smoothing, with the transducer adhered off-center to a 12" x 12" x ½" foam-core board in an infinite-baffle setup. This measurement is for comparison; actual frequency response depends on several factors, especially the diaphragm.
