This Dayton Audio 18" Reference Series passive radiator has a rigid anodized aluminum cone and cast frame, matching the construction of Dayton Audio Reference Series subwoofers.
Its SMS™ (Sandwiched Mass Structure) design keeps most of the mass centered between the surround and spider to minimize angular torque and provide greater linearity. The bolt-on mass adjustment assembly allows tuning with the included weights.
The package includes (1) passive radiator, (8) 75 gram disk weights, and (1) nylon locking nut for final assembly. As a general rule, passive radiator(s) should have at least double the air displacement (Vd) of the active woofer(s)/subwoofer(s); calculate Vd = Xmax ∗ Sd.
