The Dayton Audio Sig120-4 is a 4-inch Signature Series extended-range speaker driver designed for speaker builds. It handles 40 watts RMS and 80 watts maximum, with 4-ohm impedance and a frequency response of 75–8,500 Hz.
Key specifications: sensitivity is 89.7 dB @ 2.83V/1m, voice coil diameter is 26.6 mm, and maximum linear excursion is 4 mm. The driver features an open aluminum cast frame, a concave black anodized aluminum cone, an indexed cone-and-surround junction, and CNC'd stainless-steel badging.
A vented polyimide voice coil former, copper-clad aluminum (CCA) voice coil wire, and elevated spider suspension support airflow and mechanical damping. Aluminum shorting sleeves around the pole piece stabilize the magnetic field and reduce inductive distortion. The Signature Series drivers underwent Klippel testing during design to measure and optimize magnetic and mechanical properties.
