The Dayton Audio UMII10-22 Ultimax II is a 10-inch dual voice coil subwoofer with a single-layer woven carbon fiber cone and high-roll butyl rubber surround. Its rigid cast aluminum frame, dual spiders, FEA-optimized motor, extensive venting, and low-distortion shorting components are designed for high output and controlled excursion.
It handles 600W RMS and 1,200W maximum. The dual voice coils are 2 ohms each; they can be used in stereo 2-ohm mode or wired for 1-ohm or 4-ohm mono operation. The 2-1/2-inch, 4-layer flat-wound voice coil is rated for up to 600 watts RMS. Frequency response is 25–500 Hz, sensitivity is 87.3 dB (2.83V/1m), and maximum linear excursion is ±20 mm. The supplier’s parameters are measured with the voice coils in series, as a single 4-ohm load.
For a sealed enclosure, the driver can perform in enclosures as small as 0.75 cubic feet. The recommended car-audio sound-quality/music sealed enclosure is 0.8 cubic feet net internal volume, excluding driver volume, with an f3 of 52 Hz and a 0.707 Qtc alignment. The recommended vented car-audio high-output/home-theater enclosure is 1.5 cubic feet net internal volume, excluding driver and port volume, tuned to 27 Hz for an f3 of 27 Hz.
