This practical performing vocal score presents De profundis Clamavi, the best-known motet by Michael-Richard de Lalande (1657–1726), a celebrated work of sacred music.
De Lalande served as principal Chapel Music Director for Louis XIV and Louis XV. His grand motets marked the high point of sacred music under the ancien régime.
The edition is edited by distinguished scholar Lionel Sawkins, also editor of Charpentier’s Te Deum, published by Faber Music. It brings the work of this still relatively unknown composer to light.
