
Haydn’s Die Schöpfung (The Creation), Hob.XXI: 2 conductor score features Part I, No. 13: the chorus Die Himmel Erzahlen Die Ehre Gottes (The Heavens Are Telling).
This celebrated excerpt is one of the most recognizable and frequently performed passages from the oratorio. Haydn wrote Die Schöpfung in 1796, using a libretto by Gottfried van Swieten that draws on Paradise Lost, Genesis, and the Psalms.
