A firm favourite with singers of all ages, Evening Prayer From Hansel And Gretel is a simple but moving duet for soprano, mezzo-soprano and piano.
This edition is edited by Roger Nichols and presents the piece in an attractive new format for performance and study.
Hansel and Gretel is one of the most-performed operas ever written. Within a year of its premiere in Weimar in 1893, it had been performed 50 times in Germany alone.
The story places the duet in Act II, after Hansel and Gretel have picked and eaten strawberries and the Sandman appears before their evening prayer.
