Paul Dukas’s Fanfare Pour Preceder La Péri is a brilliant brass fanfare that precedes his one-act ballet La Péri. This reprint edition includes the conductor score and parts for 3 trumpets, 4 horns, 3 trombones and tuba.
The edition includes the original trumpet parts in C and trombones 1 and 2 in tenor clef, as well as transposed trumpets and trombones in bass clef for flexibility.
Composed in 1911, the ballet premiered on April 22, 1912, at the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris, with Dukas conducting the Lamoureux Orchestra. The fanfare is also frequently performed separately and can herald the start of a concert.
