Ferrotec Corp USA general-purpose ferrofluid is designed for high-frequency and midrange drivers with 1.5-inch diameter voice coils. It helps damp impedance at resonance to lower distortion, smooth frequency response, and increase thermal power handling.
The 300 µL kit is an approximate fill quantity for the stated voice coil diameter. In general, fill the air gap to 75% before inserting a voice coil diaphragm assembly. Use it to replenish drivers previously treated with ferrofluid; with care, it can also be used to upgrade most drivers that have never contained ferrofluid.
The ferrofluid is synthetic ester-based and in most cases should not pose an adhesive incompatibility. Confirm compatibility with the driver manufacturer before use. Adding ferrofluid to a driver not intended for it will, in most cases, void the original manufacturer's warranty.
The kit includes a ferrofluid packet, absorbent paper strips for removing old ferrofluid, detailed instructions, and a material safety data sheet.
