The Harrison Labs 12 dB RCA line-level audio attenuator pair reduces the drive signal to an amplifier, helping put input level or gain controls in a more useful adjustment range.
For example, with a line driver output of 8 volts and an amplifier input range of 100mV (0.1V) to 2 volt, a 12 dB attenuator allows the amp's gain control to be adjusted to about 1/2 rotation. These attenuators are also suited to many home A/V receivers and basic amplifiers that do not have input level controls.
