The Sound Professionals High-Output Miniature USB Microphone is a professional, high-sensitivity, high-fidelity omnidirectional microphone for computers. It suits court reporting, music, study, business, voice recognition, Skype, VOIP and podcasting. Its recording indicator light shows when audio is being recorded. The supplier describes its recordings as sounding three times as loud (strong) as those from other USB microphones. Amplified live headphone monitoring works even when not recording, and adjustable amplifier power lets you tailor pickup—from a small area to approximately 80 feet in a large room.
Connect it directly to a computer USB port or USB hub, or use an optional USB extension cable to position it away from the computer or attach it to a laptop lid with Velcro (not supplied). It is USB bus powered and requires no batteries. Audio processing takes place inside the microphone, bypassing the computer’s internal soundcard. It is compatible with all USB ports and all Audio Sync programs. System requirements: Windows 98 SE (Second Edition) or higher and an available USB port.
The built-in microphone has an extension-microphone jack. When an external microphone is connected, its sound is blended with the built-in microphones; the jack also supports a mono microphone and standard computer headsets. SP-BOUNDARY is the recommended extension microphone for matching the built-in microphones’ sound quality. Extension microphones are available with many cable lengths. The connector is a 3.5 mm jack, with mic power and audio on the tip. The input is 1 channel; provided microphone power is 2.2K Ohms, VDC, and the rated input level for full-scale output is –60 mV (rms).
