Housetop Holiday Jam! is a rock-style band version of “Up on the Housetop,” supplied as a conductor score and parts. It features practically every section in the band and includes an optional drumset.
The arrangement opens with a brief lyrical solo trumpet passage. Drumset and a grooving bass line then take over, before a feature section shares the melody among various sections, each in a different key. Percussion links the sections together.
This arrangement offers a way to expose students to music written by one of their peers.
