This DIY audio bundle combines the Hypex Direct PreAmplifier Kit, PreDIGin digital add-on and Nilai500 Stereo Amplifier Kit. The amplifier kit includes a complete stereo case, two Nilai500 amplifier modules, one PS500 power supply shared by both modules, an internal cable harness, mounting set, assembly guide and manual. No soldering is required for the amplifier build.
The Nilai500 delivers 2 x 250 W into 2Ω, 2 x 300 W into 4Ω and 2 x 260 W into 8Ω. It has two balanced XLR inputs, a 12V trigger input and gold-plated binding posts for banana plugs, spade plugs or bare wire. Features include HD+N of 0.00015% (-116 dB) at 100 W / 4Ω / 20,000 Hz, output noise of 9.5 µV at 11.8 dB gain, and three gain settings: 11.8, 21.8 and 27.8 dB.
The fully analogue PreAmplifier has a 2.7-inch monochrome OLED display, adjustable display brightness, remote control, two aluminum control knobs and a matte black, high-grade aluminum case. It provides one balanced stereo XLR input, two stereo RCA inputs, two balanced stereo XLR outputs, front 6.35 mm and 4-pole XLR headphone outputs, and two dual 3.5 mm TS 12V trigger output ports. Automatic input voltage selection supports 100–120 Vac / 200–240 Vac ±10%; standby power is less than 0.5 W. The kit includes its power supply, boards, cable harness, mounting materials, assembly instructions, tools and remote with battery.
PreDIGin adds digital inputs and FusionConnect. Its DAC uses an AK5574 ADC, dual CS43198 DACs in mono mode, an SRC4392 and an ADSP21489 DSP. DAC performance includes a 14 dBu (4.1 Vrms) output level, -117.5 dB THD+N at 0 dBFS, 128.5 dB SNR, 127 dB dynamic range and -147 dB channel crosstalk. S/PDIF, optical and AES/EBU support up to 192 kHz / 24 bits; USB Type-B and network support up to 384 kHz / 32 bits and DSD256 (DoP or native); Bluetooth supports 48 kHz / 16 bits. Network streaming requires a separately purchased and installed Raspberry Pi, models 2 through 5. FusionConnect S/PDIF output supports 93.75 kHz / 24 bits, with PCM and DSD converted to PCM at 93.75 kHz.
