The Hypex Direct SMPS3kA700 is a high-power, high-efficiency Safety Class 1 switched-mode power supply designed for integration with UcD™ amplifier modules. It provides 3000W at 20Hz into an amplifier load and features a small form factor and low EMI. Applications include active loudspeakers and power amplifiers for home and professional use, line array and immersive systems, home theatre systems, and multichannel power amplifiers.
The main output is 2 x 66 Vdc minimum, 2 x 85 Vdc typical, and 2 x 97 Vdc maximum. The auxiliary output is 2 x 18 Vdc minimum, 2 x 23 Vdc typical, and 2 x 26 Vdc maximum, with an auxiliary output current of 500 mA. Output voltages are proportional to AC mains. The mains input is 230V / 115V; automatic input voltage selection is not available, and input voltage is selected with a jumper. Remote-controlled operation is supported.
Overcurrent protection limits output current during temporary overloads; if an overload continues, the supply enters hiccup mode until the fault is removed. Large primary electrolytic buffer capacitors help support short-term peak power delivery. Additional protections and features include over-temperature protection and a DC detection input. This model belongs to the SMPS family.
