Softstart ModuleSoftstart module to minimize transformer inrush currents and provide for push button control at the same time. Transformer inrush current is controlled by a triac that switches heavy-duty resistors in series with the AC mains before relay switching takes place. An optional bi-color LED can be used to show either On or Standby status. In Standby mode, power consumption remains below 1.2W. The Softstart can be set to operate with either a push button or a switch through a selectable jumper. If extra thermal protection is needed, a PTC option is also available. The Softstart is capable of switching multiple transformers with a combined maximum of 1500VA, while continuous current must remain at or below 6A.
