Rich harmonies set in the Mixolydian mode establish the fresh style of this delightful fantasy for strings. After the lyrical introduction, a light pizzicato accompaniment supports the more rhythmically active first violin melody. An abbreviated rondo form and short fugato combine to make Idyllwild Fantasy a delightful teaching piece for young string players.
