Impressioni dal Vero (Impressions from Life) consists of three, three-movement suites of strikingly colored, harmonically arresting, melodious music. Gian Francesco Malipiero (1882-1973) describes these pieces as a "musical echo of certain sensations," not an exact reflection of what he had seen or heard. The titles give some impression of these atmospheric pieces: I. Festa in Val d'Inferno (Festival in the Valley of Hell); II. I Galli (The Cockerels); III. La tarantella a Capri (The Tarantella in Capri). Instrumentation: 3(3rd dPicc).2+EH.2+BCl.2+CBsn: 4.3.3.1: Timp.Perc(5-6): Clst.Hp: Str (9.8.7.6.5 in set). Reprint edition. (10:00)
