The Jantzen Audio Silver Z-Cap is a 0.39μF non-polarized Super MKP capacitor for high-end passive speaker tweeter and mid-range applications, and for coupling in tube and power amplifiers. It measures Ø 31mm × 43mm and has pure silver leads. Its voltage rating for 0.1μF to 0.39μF is 1200 VDC / 800 VAC; capacitance tolerance is ±2% on the nominal value.
This metalized polypropylene foil capacitor uses a double-foil construction: two capacitors are connected in series within one housing, with two lanes of metalized polypropylene foil and four times the foil used in standard metalized polypropylene foil capacitors. It has double-layer round tubular construction with axial leads and bifilar extended metalized foil winding. The electrodes are aluminum metallized vacuum deposited; contacts are non-inductive zinc thermally sprayed extended film. The coating is silver plastic tape wrapped black resin, sealed in an anodized aluminum tube. Jantzen does not fill the capacitor with dielectric fluid, eliminating risks of evaporation or leakage that can shorten capacitor longevity and quality.
