The Jantzen Audio 8030 Compact MKT is a 2.7 µF metalized polyester film capacitor. Its rounded-square shape has flat top and bottom surfaces, so multiple capacitors can be stacked when connected in parallel to reach a higher capacity value for a crossover position. Jantzen describes this design as smaller, with better sonic properties, than plain or smooth foil electrolytic capacitors; its 160 VDC rating also offers an alternative to electrolytic capacitors usually rated at 63 VDC or 100 VDC.
Dimensions are 9 x 14 x 25 mm (H x W x L). The capacitor uses metalized polyester foil, polyester foil dielectric insulation, and tinned 4N copper wire terminal leads. Capacity tolerance is +/- 5%; voltage rating is 160 VDC / 100 VAC. The non-polar dielectric has an extremely low dissipation factor and extremely low equivalent series resistance (ESR).
