The Jantzen Audio Standard Z-Cap is a 2.7µF, non-polarized MKP crossover capacitor with single-foil construction. Its dimensions are Ø 15mm × L: 31mm. The supplier describes its sound as fast reacting, smooth and detailed compared with other single-foil PP capacitors.
It uses aluminum-metallized polypropylene foil, a round tubular body with axial leads, bifilar extended metalized foil winding, vacuum-deposited aluminum-metallized electrodes and non-inductive zinc thermally sprayed extended-film contacts. The blue plastic tape coating is wrapped and sealed in black resin; leads are tin-plated oxygen-free copper. The capacitor contains no dielectric fluid.
Rated voltage is 400 VDC / 250 VAC; test voltage is 150% of rated voltage. Capacitance tolerance is ±5% on nominal value. The 400VDC capacitance range is 1.0 μF to 100μF. The dielectric is polypropylene film with a non-polar dielectric constant. Dielectric thickness is PB=5µm; metal layer thickness is PB=0.3µm, and metal layer conductivity is PB =1.2 Ω/cm2.
