Künstler-Quadrille nach Motiven berühmter Meister (Artist's Quadrille based on Themes of famous Masters), Op. 201, is a piano conductor score for Johann Strauss II's 1858 quadrille. The lively, stylized dance was written for four couples arranged in a square; quadrilles developed from square-shaped formations performed by four horsemen in military parades and later became popular as dances without horses.
Each of the work's six short sections incorporates themes by famous composers: 1. Le Pantalon: Mendelssohn and Mozart; 2. L'été: Weber and Chopin; 3. La Poule: Paganini, Meyerbeer, and Ernst; 4. Trénis: Weber and Schulhoff; 5. La Pastourelle: Schubert and Mozart; and 6. Finale: Beethoven.
