
This is Rudolf Dittrich’s transcription of Antonio Vivaldi’s Concerto No. 3 in G major, RV 310, from L’estro armonico (The Harmonic Inspiration).
The original concerto has three movements and was written for solo violin, strings, and continuo. Dittrich’s transcription is for solo mandolin, two additional mandolins, two guitars, and bass.
L’estro armonico is a collection of 12 concerti for stringed instruments, first published in 1711. Vivaldi lived from 1678 to 1741; transcriber Rudolf Dittrich lived from 1861 to 1919.
