Thanks to the powerful neodymium motor assembly this driver weighs in at under 13 lbs, making it possible to get extreme output without excessive weight. The large 3” copper voice coil is wound on a heat resistant fiberglass former and is vented through the motor and frame to handle up to 600 watts RMS without significant power compression. In addition, the motor assembly includes dual aluminum shorting rings keeping inductance under control for minimal stored energy and exceedingly low distortion. The naturally damped paper cone has been costed with a waterproof treatment allowing the WAN153.01 to be used in less-than-optimal installations where it may be exposed to the elements.
