Lyric Essay is written in a neo-romantic style. It is a slow, reflective work with much opportunity for musical expression. This piece (originally written for concert band) has been performed all throughout Canada, the United States and in Japan. It has been recorded by many organizations including several university and professional ensembles. It is an ideal lyric composition to be programmed between two louder works on your next concert.
