
This conductor score and parts present Mozart’s arrangement of the “Hallelujah” chorus from George Frideric Handel’s Messiah, HWV 56, Part II. Handel composed Messiah in 1741; in 1789, Baron Gottfried Van Swieten commissioned Mozart to create a modernized version for a concert in Vienna.
This edition is edited by English music theorist and composer Ebenezer Prout. It includes Handel’s original wind parts, which Prout rediscovered and incorporated in his 1902 volume.
