The Mogami W2524 is a 1 Ft high-impedance guitar instrument signal cable with a 20 AWG conductor. A conductive PVC layer beneath the shield is designed to dissipate unwanted voltages associated with handling noise when the cable is bent, stepped on, or moved. During termination, trim this layer back; leaving it in place can cause a partial short.
The conductor is 50/0.12A, 0.565mm² (#20AWG). Clear PE insulation has an outer diameter of 2.7Ø (0.106"). The black conductive PVC (Carbon PVC) sub-shield has an outer diameter of 3.3Ø (0.130"); the main shield is a served shield, approximately 55/0.18A. The black PVC jacket has an outer diameter of 6.0Ø (0.236").
Electrical characteristics: DC resistance at 20°C is 0.033Ω/m (0.010Ω/Ft) for the inner conductor and 0.014Ω/m (0.0043Ω/Ft) for the shield conductor. Capacitance is 130pF/m (39.7pF/Ft) at 1kHz, 20°C; inductance is 0.2µH/m (0.061µH/Ft). Electrostatic noise*: 0.15mV Max.; electromagnetic noise at 10kHz*: 0.07mV Max.; microphonics*: 0.3mV Max.
