The Morel TiW 638Ft Titanium Advanced Series is a 6" woofer with a double ferrite magnet system and 8-ohm impedance. Its one-piece DPC (Damped Polymer Composite) cone delivers frequency response from 40 Hz to 5,000 Hz on-axis and from 40 Hz to 4,000 Hz off-axis. The large voice coil can handle 10 ms peak power transients of up to 1,000 watts when used correctly. Specifications are analyzed at 1V for more accurate cabinet design.
The Titanium Advanced series uses a 3" Hexatech™ aluminum voice coil with hexagonal-shaped wire, wound onto titanium bobbins. The wire is designed for high sensitivity and power handling, while the bobbins provide low energy storage for quick transients and strong attack and decay. Raised Qms allows a wider range of enclosure options. Across the series, magnetic systems include dual ferrite, Hybrid™ neodymium/ferrite, and Hybrid™ neodymium/ferrite with a Coppersleeve Neolin™ motor; each is available in 4 and 8 ohm impedance.
The Uniflow™ Aluminum Diecast Chassis has an oversized pole-piece vent, a frame-suspended spider and an exposed voice coil to help reduce reflections and output-robbing power compression. Its open design also accommodates an oversized spider to control the oversized voice coil.
Morel has pursued loudspeaker design since 1975, with products for Hi-Fi, home theater and car audio markets. Morel products are sold in more than 55 countries; the company states that each is assembled by hand and extensively tested through seven quality assurance steps.
