My Favorite Pets is a late elementary piano piece designed to keep students moving through the music with constant changes from legato to staccato articulation.
The piece gives clues along the way to answer the riddle-like question, “Who are my favorite pets?” It also includes shifts in fingering so students do not stay in one hand position.
Use this piece to practice articulation contrast, flexible fingering, and reading through a playful musical puzzle.
