The Neutrik XX Series NC5FXX-B is a 5-pin XLR female cable connector with a black metal housing and gold contacts. The XX Series is the next generation of the globally recognized XLR cable connector standard and succeeds the X series.
Its female contact has a cage design for low contact resistance and high integrity, plus a solder barrier to help prevent solder from running into the contact mating area. The connector has a larger, easier-to-handle solid metal latch, additional ground spring contacts for better shell ground continuity, and an improved chuck-type strain relief for higher pull-out force and easier, faster assembly. A polyurethane-gland boot helps protect the cable from bending stresses. The rugged zinc diecast shell has an internal thread protected against damage.
Each XX Series connector comes with a subtle, removable plastic ring; replace it with one of the ten different colors available to identify a cable by length, signal source, destination, purpose, or another chosen use. Colored rings are available for coding or identification.
