Patty’s Reel, by Bob Cerulli, is a lively 6/8 dance tune in the style of a traditional reel. Its open fifths evoke bagpipes, while the dancing rhythms create a lively spirit.
Each instrument group takes a turn playing the melodic theme, supported by animated rhythms. The piece also offers a good opportunity to teach students about bowing variations.
Duration: 1:30.
