Peace, I Leave With You is a choral octavo originally written as part of a summer retreat at the Norfolk Music Festival. Its fresh, flowing harmonic style works well with choirs of all sizes and abilities, and the work is appropriate for any time of the church year.
The text from John 14 makes it suitable as a choral benediction, introit, or offering. It is also a good choice for concert occasions, with an inherently ecumenical and inclusive message.
The premiere performance was given in 2007 by the Harvard Choral Fellows, with Carson Cooman conducting.
