PRV Audio 8MR500SEAL PRO Pro Series 8" Sealed Basket Midrange Speaker 8 OhmThe PRV Audio 8MR500SEAL PRO is engineered to deliver a smooth midrange response extending up to 9,000 Hz. It is designed to provide clear definition and high output in midrange frequencies, making it an excellent choice for high-output 3-way audio systems.
A sealed back basket streamlines cabinet construction by removing the need for a separate chamber for other speakers. This midrange handles 500 Watts RMS and delivers the output needed to match high-powered drivers, making it ideal for 3-way cabinet systems (Midbass + Sealed Basket + High Frequency Driver or Tweeter). Its paper cone features natural damping and a waterproof coating, maintaining performance even in wet or humid environments. Engineered for detailed midrange reproduction, it covers frequencies from 300Hz to 9,000Hz.With a powerful output peak at 400Hz, it achieves 104dB sensitivity at 1w/1m.
A lightweight paper cone is paired with a large 2″ voice coil to deliver strong 500-watt power handling. A robust spider suspension, woven cloth surround, and sealed back pressed steel basket are built for lasting durability through extended use.
This driver is a popular choice among cabinet builders seeking a sealed basket midrange capable of matching the output of high-sensitivity low frequency drivers.
A closed basket design in a speaker such as the 8MR500SEAL PRO provides multiple benefits. It blocks interference from a woofer or midbass when used in a shared cabinet, producing a cleaner and more precise midrange.
This design also enhances the speaker’s performance by delivering a tight, impactful midbass and midrange, improving the overall sound quality.

Keeping this power for a little longer timer will damage the speaker.
