The PRV Audio D270Ph-S is a compact 1-inch phenolic compression driver with an 8-ohm impedance and 1-3/8"-18 TPI thread. Based on the design of PRV Audio’s D250Ph-S, its small diameter allows front mounting without detaching the driver from the horn, making installation easier in tight spaces.
Its voice coil uses high-temperature copper wire wound on a Kapton former to withstand high operating temperatures. The nearly indestructible phenolic diaphragm resists the elements, is suited to outdoor use, and can play down to 500 Hz. The older RPD250Ph replacement diaphragm still fits this driver.
Designed to reproduce the vocal range with authority, the D270Ph-S is suited to high-power public address (PA) systems, small venues, and gymnasiums. Car audio SPL enthusiasts also use it for vocal reinforcement in high-output 3-way systems.
