Recital Winners, Books 1 & 2 is a CD of vibrant recordings of “winning” masterworks from all style periods. Each piece was selected for its appeal, showmanship and accessibility to pianists at the early-intermediate through late-intermediate levels.
Pianist and pedagogue Valery Lloyd-Watts gives interpretations that attend closely to the written page while embracing the full palette of musical color. She studied at the Conservatory of Music in Toronto and the Royal College of Music in London, and earned a Master of Music degree at the University of Wisconsin, where she studied with Paul Badura-Skoda.
Lloyd-Watts co-authored Studying Suzuki Piano: More than Music, a text endorsed by Dr. Suzuki.
