
This critical edition of Antonín Dvořák’s Romance in F minor, Op. 11 (B. 39) is for solo violin and orchestra. Edited by Jarmil Burghauser, the edition includes a conductor score and parts.
Dvořák composed the romance in 1877, reworking it from the Andantino movement of his 1873 String Quartet No. 5 in F minor, written before he was well-known. Created at the request of Josef Markus, leader of the Provisional Theatre Orchestra in Prague, it premiered on December 9, 1877, with Adolf Cech conducting.
