Rondo Energico is the fourth and final movement of Four Pieces for Trumpet Ensemble. This work was commissioned by Richard B. Lehman, who at the time, was the Trumpet Professor at Illinois State University and the person with whom the composer studied while in Graduate school. It was premiered by the I.S.U. Trumpet Ensemble in the fall of 1982. It is written for 5 trumpets.
